Round Up: June 2015

I've pretty much been away the majority of the month. I spent sixteen days away on a work course. This was good for me but not great for you guys as it was pretty quiet on the adventure front.

So what else has happened this month? The main thing is serious plans have been made for this years Blanchard Challenge. Click the link to find out what this is. It's a great opportunity to remember a fallen army friend and raise money each year for charity. Details have not been finalised yet so watch this space for updates.

Myself and some friends have signed up to the new Bear Gryls Ultimate Survival Race too. This looks ridiculous. 30 km in total for the distance with over 100 obstacles to complete. Plus there is two 'unique' challenges to complete at the end of each 10 km lap. I wonder what that's going to be. I have a funny feeling I'm going to have to eat something like sheeps testicals then complete the run without throwing up! This is going to be a lot of fun and our team is really looking forward to it. Plus, this is my motivation to keep the training up over the summer. Don't want to let the team down.

My personal training is going well. Do I dare say it, but I've actually enjoyed a few of my runs. Until the weather got too warm. I'm not great in the heat. It is one of my weaknesses trying to work in the heat. I'm more of a winter person. Don't know how I survived in the deserts of Iraq in the middle of summer back in my army days!!

Thats it for now. Short and sweet this month. As always, I love hearing from you guys out there doing your thing. Let me know what you're up to. Perhaps you would like to feature on this site and tell me all about your sport or adventure. Please do get in touch.
